Fix Image Distortion Addon Image Carousel (Luxyort Template)

Hello,

I am currently working with the Luxyort template on Joomla 4. On the homepage, I’m using the Image Carousel addon to display a scrolling image banner.

However, I’m encountering an issue: the images get distorted when the browser window is resized. I would like to know if there is a way to enforce a fixed size while maintaining the images' aspect ratio, so that they don’t stretch or get squashed on different screen sizes.

I haven’t found any setting related to this in the addon’s options.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Michel

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. Is it possible to upload your site on a test server? It would be good to understand the problem.

Best regards,

You just need to preview the Luxyort template and scroll down to the animated image banner (Image Carousel) at the bottom of the page: 👉 https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/luxyort

When you resize the browser window, you'll notice that the images do not scale proportionally: only the width (X-axis) changes, while the height remains fixed, resulting in distorted images.

I have captured a screencast for you. How exactly it works. Please watch the video.

Thank you for your video.

However, the issue remains: the solution only works for a few fixed screen sizes. When resizing the browser window between those breakpoints, the images still become distorted. This is a real problem when trying to make the carousel work properly on very large screens and intermediate sizes.

It's quite limiting, especially since there are only 5 options available in the settings.

Would it be possible to use percentage values instead of fixed pixels? It may not be a perfect solution, but it would allow for smoother, more flexible scaling.

Thanks in advance for your help.

We currently provide responsive support for five devices. If you try to squeeze the browser manually, we’re sorry for any inconvenience.

It's a pity that we can't use percentages instead of fixed pixels.

Please consider passing this feedback on to the technical team — maybe they'll include this option in a future update of SP Page Builder 😉

Thanks again for the exchange!

Too bad…

It’s disappointing to see that such a visible issue won’t be addressed.

Have a nice day!

I have the same problem... the fact is that the image is kept at the same height and is reduced in width and it is not a responsive problem. This behavior is not with the "Carousel" addon but only with the "Image Carousel" addon I opened another topic let's see what they say because it is not normal... previously everything worked fine

Hi Claudio,

Thanks for your feedback! That's exactly what I mentioned in my post (Image Carousel). It's true that their response wasn't very professional, as I do consider this a real issue.

In the meantime, I worked around it by coding with the Raw addon, which allowed me to achieve exactly what I was expecting from the Image Carousel addon. If you're interested, I can share the code with you.

Have a great evening!

hi and thank you... I would be happy to investigate the addon, but I don't know how to get your support/code (can you write to www at scandella dot net ?)... give me instructions, however I also await the "official" solution from the team. Excuse me for my bad english. Thank you
