Hello iig75,

Thank you for reaching out to our technical support forum. I’m sorry to hear about the trouble you’re experiencing. Sorry, there is no way to override this file. You can edit this file. But every time you update Helix Ultimate, this file will be updated too. So, you can customize this file and keep it with you separately. Then change the file every time you install Helix Ultimate.

Best regards

And if I change the permissions to 444, won't it work?

I am not sure about what you are talking. This could hamper Helix update. If you are confident, then you can try it.

Hi,

In none of Joomla templates (Casopea as well) you cannot override main index.php file. Is was never possible, since Joomla 1.0 as I remember those times.

In theory you can change permission, but knowing Joomla it may (or not) override that during template update.

So you have 3 options left:

  1. Change permission to 444, but backup that file, and remember about that during next update.
  2. Rename template
  3. Use other methods to add your own code inside, custom code plugin?

As alternative, template rename may help. Then no auto-updates for template files, only manuall.
