New Menu Item Not Appearing - Again

Helix Framework 5 months ago

Using Joomla 5.2.5, SPPB Pro v5.5.4, Edulif v2.0.4, Helix Ultimate Framework v2.1.2

I am having the same issue I reported here one year ago https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/31930

Why can I not simply create a new menu item and have it appear in the mega menu?

I've cleared all caches. I'm not able to provide admin access to my site.

Is this a bug?

Hi there!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused.

To assist you more effectively, may I kindly request temporary administrative access to your site? This will allow me to thoroughly investigate and resolve the issue for you.

Before sharing the credentials, I strongly recommend taking a complete backup of your site to ensure all data remains secure.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards

As I said in my question, I'm not able to provide admin access to my site.

Look at the previous question link I provided, there is some sort of bug I presume?

Thank you for reaching out. Just to clarify—are you experiencing this issue on the same site as referenced in your previous post #31930, or is this occurring on a new installation?

Also, could you please provide a bit more detail about the issue? For instance:

  • Is the menu item you're adding a parent or a sub-menu item?
  • Which specific menu are you adding it to (e.g., Main Menu)?

This will help us determine whether this is a configuration-related issue or a potential bug in the Helix framework or template.

Looking forward to your clarification.

No, I am experiencing this on a different site - which leads me to believe it's a bug. I have included a link to the live site in the hidden area.

A new sub-menu item needs to be added to the For Students tab called Counselling. I have created the meun item but it’s not displaying in the mega menu - why? This should be very simple, but as usual, it's not.

Apologies for the inconvenience. The issue you're experiencing is not actually a bug, but rather a limitation of the Helix Ultimate Mega Menu feature. The Mega Menu is rendered only on larger screen sizes and within the main menu area. On mobile or smaller displays, the off-canvas menu is used instead, which does not display Mega Menu elements such as modules or custom layouts—instead, it simply shows the child menu items in a standard dropdown structure.

You should be able to see the newly added Counselling sub-menu item under the For Students tab in the mobile/off-canvas menu, even though the Mega Menu layout won't appear as it does on desktop.

Yes, I can see it on smaller screens. So, what's the solution? I need to see it on all screens.

This is always such a difficult process, I simply want to add a new menu item and have it appear on ALL screen sizes. I hope you can see that this is not user friendly to website admins, at all, and needs to be reviewed.

If you do not require the Mega Menu feature, you can simply disable it. Please refer to the screen recording provided in the hidden content area for guidance.

I do require the mega menu, that's whay I have it enabled and spent time configuring it. Can you tell me how to resolve my issue please.

This seems like a bug, not a limitation.

I can take screenshots of my settings if you tell me what you need to see.

You haven't given me an answer, just advised me to disable to feature completely, which isn't a solution.

Apologies for the inconvenience caused. I’ve discussed the issue with our development team, and we’ve identified a problem currently affecting the Mega Menu functionality.

As a temporary solution, after adding a new menu item, please open the Mega Menu settings and simply click "Save." This should ensure the new item displays correctly.

We understand this is not ideal, and please rest assured that our team is actively working on a more permanent fix, which will be included in an upcoming update.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards

Apologies for the inconvenience.

In the updated version of Helix Ultimate, you can now add available submenu items directly using the Add option. A list of available submenu items will appear there for easy selection and configuration.

For detailed guidance, please refer to our official documentation here: 👉 Menu Navigation – Helix Ultimate

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Apologies for the inconvenience. In the updated version of Helix Ultimate, if you are using a Mega Menu, please note that submenu items must be added manually. They are only added automatically the first time you create the menu as a Mega Menu. Any additional menu items added afterward will not appear automatically—you will need to include them manually within the Mega Menu configuration.

Can you just simply confirm.. is the issue I  reported THREE MONTHS AGO fixed or not?

This whole process and the customer service I've received (which I am paying for) is completely unacceptable.

Hello johnny,

Sorry for the inconvenience. As I mentioned earlier, the Helix Ultimate mega menu builder has limitations regarding automatically adding sub-menu items. Therefore, we need to take a different approach to manually add menu items, which wasn't possible in the previous version.

To confirm whether the issue is resolved: yes, it is, but not in the way you initially expected. We had to implement a different approach.

Best regards
