Helix Framework 5 months ago

Hi, Joomla does not auto update from 5.1 to next. It stays at 5.1 stable. Now helix shaper ultimate is version 2.0.18. i can update to 2.1.2. but error message does appear. The update channel are swiched on and even i choose next joomla. Also error messages appears when i does update manually. Upload max filesize is 32M, Post max size 32M. Database 10.5.26/PHP 8.3.20. No strange extensions. Another nearly the same website, with the same filesize does not have any problems, I try all kind of things but cannot find the issue. Credentials in hidden content. I hope you can help. Thanks in advantage. Greetz, Grafiek

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out.

I have updated the Joomla settings by changing the update channel to “Next” and also updated Helix Ultimate. Please try checking the site using a different browser or in incognito mode. If the update still doesn’t appear, you can manually update Joomla.

Thanks again!

Hi Ziaul,

I did before exactly the same, but still problems after the manually update. After that a placed the backup and inform you. So, you updated Helix Ultimate and template to 2.1.2, and i did manually J 5.1 to 5.3 with the original update file (another browser (firefox) with emptied cache and history). And again the same failure: At the controlpanel: all red marked: unknown extensions... unknown reguest… error checking overrides.

After clicking at Joomla is up-to-date in the next screen: An error has occurred. 0 Could not load root metadata.

What is happened and how to fix?

I'll leave it as it is now, so you can see for yourself. You have the login. Bye, Grafiek

I see it, Please, downlaod a backup file and restore it on your local pc. Then try to reinstall joomla.

It will resolve your issues.

Thanks.

I know, sorry, how to backup. That is not the point. I mean how to reinstall joomla on a existing website. I don't know how to do that. You can! It is a very simple site (2 pages) based on sp pagebuilder with helix, no specific strange extensions. and then this will happen. In such a case i am disappointment in helix/sp pagebuilder that such a thing can happen and joomshaper can not give a good normal solution.

Please note that both Helix Ultimate and SP Page Builder require manual updates. This is the procedure we follow for updating these extensions and framework.

Regarding the issues you’ve encountered — they appear to be related to Joomla itself, and not specific to our product. We recommend testing the setup on your local environment to better understand the behavior and confirm that the issues originate from Joomla or from your server.

We appreciate your understanding.

Best regards,

Strange joomla related. I disagree with you on this issue. There are more sites (also with the same configuration) running on the same server that do not have this. But the question remains how, I just do not know, how do I reinstall joomla on this existing site? Regards

Note: In this case, you can only reinstall the Joomla core files — a full fresh installation is not possible.

To do this:

  1. Download the Joomla core files from the official site: 👉 https://downloads.joomla.org/cms/joomla5/5-3-0
  2. In your Joomla admin panel, go to: System → Update → Joomla → Upload & Update

Upload your files here.

This will reinstall the core files without affecting your existing content.

Thanks!

Hi again, That's not possible because that uploadpage in joomla is full of faults and there is not anthing you can do. The only thing is back to mainpage. I placed back the backup so new start from 5.1.0. For this time upload as you describe but then 5.2.0 (in case of 5.3.0). But same issue! Could not load metadata. And also the notification unknown extensions, unknown request&hellip, error checking for overrides. So >>> the same as we start this whole communication. Login to the backend and you will see!

Nevermind. Too much hassle. I did a fresh install of Helix Ultimate with 5.3 and moved the content over.
