Dynamic Content Page : Impossible To Select Source

Hello!
I'm trying to use dynamic content, in order to store in one place all of my clients infos, and give each one of them (dog owners) access to a private page where they can find all the tips and training recaps.
I've started with 2 collections, one "dogs" and another one "dog owners", but when I try to create the detail page and add, for instance, a "field text", I can't click on "select field source". Nothing happens.
Also, can I create a page "template" with dynamic content from several collections ?

Thank you for your message. After investigating the issue, I found that a 500 Internal Server Error is being triggered due to a hosting-related problem. I recommend contacting your hosting provider to review and resolve this error.

I will look into it and try to contact the hosting provider, but unfortunately since it seems to be a code erreur, I don't think they will provide support for this error.
I tried with all dynamic items. I can select a source for dynamic filter and collection, where the source is a dropdown menu, but for the text and media, where the source is a "+" button, nothing happens.
Also, I put a dynamic collection on my page but nothing appears (I do have 1 item in the collection).
Are you sure you can't look more into it ? :D

I happen to have the same issue. So far, I only created one dynamic ressource and was trying to use it. However, when I click "Select a field source" nothing happens in the Backend editor. Sadly, I can't try it on the frontend editor, since I want to use the dynamic text element inside an accordion.
Any suggestions? The site is "new", so there were'nt any collections before. You'll find the link in the hidden content, if needed.
We're on Joomla 6.1.0 and Page Builder 6.6.0

Accepted AnswerHi - have you had a response or yet ? I'm also having the same issue, which I'll post separately shortly. For this current version ( as of this date ) and the last version of pagebuilder pro, there's no response to selecting the field resource in dynamic text, nor for enabling dynamic link. Also previously, in a version when I could select a field source, I could select all options but not full text. Can't get that far yet in this version. Using current helix ultimate.
I also reinstalled SPPPB 6.6 then tried back installing SPPB 6.5, but nothing made a difference.
I believe this might be a bug, and hope Support can address this , or clarify the issue, ( shouldn't need my details yet as there are a few posting this issue I see ), but will get to that soon anyway. Spent 7 days on this already. Just adding to the discussion here to hopefully inspire some action.

Accepted AnswerMay I ask what Browser you are using? I tried it on Brave and on Chrome, but whenever in the Backend Editor I click on "Select a field source" nothing shows up still...

Accepted AnswerCould you maybe then tell me how you did it - or log in with the account I have created for you and put a dynamic text on the page and select the source?
Because as I stated above: with both Chrome and Brave I still can't select a source in the Backend nor in the Frontend Editor.

Accepted Answerhi - I'm now trying to set up the same thing as you are ie collection / dynamic content inside an accordion tab, with the same non response when trying to select a source field, which I'm guessing has to be set up first, but am not sure where for pagebuilder, only for joomla ( doesn't seem to be the same thing ).......
( a bit later ) Seems it might be, for me, my host's server, or the fact I use a VPN, that is delaying correct set up in appearing at my end, as it's working now, I think. A bit more practice...

I tried without a VPN now as well (since I was always using one while editing the webpage) - however, sadly it's still not working for me, not on Google Chrome nor on Brave. It is really frustrating that a feature that's supposed to work is apparently working very irregulary on host machines and the solutions provided by the support are not helpful either sadly...

AFAIK, you need to have things like fields, field groups, collections understood and created before you start with setting up page structures and addons etc - which I'm only just getting my mind around. I'm still learning.
Did you find the video that was created for you by support yet ?
Do you also have admin tools ( core is free ) installed ? Good for continually repairing & optimising tables, especially after many changes. And frequently global checking in each time I add changes.

Ok so now I got it to work (I think?) - but I guess it's just really not what I expected it to be! First of all: in order for the Dynamic Text to work I first had to put a "Collection" element on my page and then place a Dynamic Text Element inside.
I made an FAQ Collection and was hoping I could create some FAQs with their respective answers that I could use on some pages, and on some not.
However, it seems that the Dynamic Content is not intended to work like variables in programming. It is not possible (or at least I didn't find a way) to pick only one item from the Collection that is displayed, as it is showing all items with the selected field. If I do want to filter, I would need to put up a "Dynamic Filter" as well and users would need to query.
Sadly, that is not what I hoped the Dynamic Text would be and honestly, with that functionality, I do not see a fiting use case on my website then.
About the video: no, they did not put the video in the hidden content, so I am not able to see the screencast video they we're talking about...

Accepted AnswerIn case it matters still - tonight I discovered , as I use a wired mouse to steer the screen around, that if I click on select field source with a right click, it opens but blank and no options. But if I click on it with left click, it opens with the full range of options I'd set up in collections. Think I was right clicking because in the beginning I wasn't getting any response with left mouse click action. Solved a few things for me.
I still have an issue with the source fields window opening with overlaps of itself sometimes. I'll post about that elsewhere though.

Accepted AnswerWell some movement forward at least.
My understanding is you can nominate or point to one article being published by, as you say, setting up filters & conditions, source fields, authors, dates, date ranges, as well as precise text that's 'set' or exact ( I forget all the qualifiers ), and other things, that will eliminate any unwanted extras from the same collection. And just set it to 'flat', meaning no search inputs or radio selections needed. You just get the article you want to publish.
