[Bug?] Open Graph Tags Missing When "Video" is Selected As Article Format (Newsberg Template)

Hello there,

I have an Agency license with you and I'm currently using your "Newsberg" template along with SP Page Builder Pro.

I'm encountering an issue that you might be able to help me with—unless it’s a bug with the template.

I've created a news article for our website, and under the "Blog Media" tab, if I set the "Article Format" to "Video", I lose all Open Graph tags for the article. That means no og:image, og:title, og:description, etc.

However, when I select "Standard" as the "Article Format", the Open Graph tags return. This issue only occurs when "Video" is selected as the format.

I need to publish this article on social media, and it's very important for us that the article image (Blog Media / Featured Image) is displayed correctly—even if the article is in video format.

Here is the link to the article: https://www.lautomobile.ca/en/videos/john-scotti-a-life-devoted-to-exceptional-cars-exclusive-video-interview

Thank you very much for your assistance with this issue.

Kind regards,
Richard

Hi Toufiq,

Thank you for your reply.

With all due respect, I don't believe this is simply a missing feature or functionality. In my opinion, this appears to be a bug. It's not logical that switching an article's format to "Video" would completely remove all Open Graph properties from the page. This behavior breaks fundamental social sharing capabilities and significantly impacts how content is displayed on platforms like Facebook and LinkedIn.

Open Graph metadata is essential for effective sharing, regardless of the article format. It seems imperative that this issue be addressed in a timely manner to ensure proper compatibility and consistency across the site.

In the meantime, could you please suggest a workaround or alternative that would allow us to retain the OG tags when using the "Video" format? We need to continue publishing content in this format without compromising our visibility on social media.

Thanks again for your attention to this matter. Looking forward to your guidance.

Best regards,
Richard
