Hi,

tried everythinand still cant get my custom 404 error page to show on my website.

I followed the directions your chat team provided here https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/create-a-custom-joomla-404-page-with-sp-page-builder

created a 404 page in SP Pagebuilder added the hidden menu item 404 linking fo that page added the custom code in the template root error.php made sure i changed the link URL from the menu item to mine.

now if i go to a non existant page all browsers tell me theres too many redirects.

im using latest Joomla 5, updated Fedeal Template and SP Pagebuilder

Resolution for others.

The link and instructions in my first post are correct.

My mistake was that when I created the 404 hidden menu item I left the parent item set to "resources" sub menu heading. once I chanhed that back to "no parent" and saved the menu my issue was resolved.

Hello,

Thanks for reaching out to us. Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,

I wish I could but our company security policy wont let me.

Are you able to confirm the instructions in the link above are correct for my situation... J5 Federal template, SP Pagebuilder Pro?

the 404 page I created is there, we can see that. the menu item i created is correct. and the code I placed in the top of the error page is exactly as oer the document with my link instead.

Ive pasted the first part of the error.php file in the hidden section of this reply if youd like to review that.

Can you suggest other steps i can take to try an resolve?

Sorry I cant provide access. And thanks for the prompt replies 🙏🏼
