Enable Lazy Loading, But Exclude Specific Images.

Hello, we can enable or disable lazy loading via SP Page Builder or Helix Ultimate.

However, best practice often dictates that the first visible images, e.g., the cover image of a news article, which is immediately visible, should be excluded. This also has a positive effect on Google SEO stats. But it's also very beneficial for the reader.

Question: What is the best option for excluding an image (image module) from lazy loading in SP Page Builder?

Further thoughts: If I understand correctly, we would have to assign the two properties “loading=‘eager’ + ”fetchpriority=“high” to the image?

Let me read more about using “loading=eager/lazy/auto” and I will talk with our developers next week.

Hi Andreas,

Right now as you noticed you can only enable / disable that Lazy loading option.

About fetchpriority="high" for image addon and slideshow addon - planned, it was added to wishlist already.

So please wait for 5.8.0 and 5.8.1 version. We both have to wait.

Thanks, it sounds good that it's on the list.

As I understand it, fetchpriority=high alone is not enough if an image has the “lazy loading” tag, and “loading=eager” would also be important for the main image. Maybe that could be added as well.

I'm looking forward to the update. Thanks.
