Having Used Helix Before And It was Great, Now Bought SPPB6 And...

Hello,

I am used to creating templates rather than content or modules with Helix... and it's a great tool but well, I thought I'll give SPPB 6 a go, bought the Pro version. I code stuff, know Bootstrap, Helix was GREAT but it lacked some pre-made blocks, etc. and I want to save time to build stuff so...

Now, I don't understand, where is the basic template so that I don't see the Cassiopeia header? And I was struggling to add a menu, found Navigation but where is the MegaMenu and stuff like that?

And I guess it's like with Wordpress, you have to create content from within the builder, otherwise it's Joomla core content?

Can my own templates or block styles be saved to reuse? I mean can I create a menu and then I put it as a re-usable element on each of the pages?

And most importantly - can I create templates, not exact designs? So that e.g. I create a grid, add menu, footer which are reusable elements (so that I can edit them in one place and then it's updated everywhere), and then I save this page layout as my own and reuse it as basis for pages?

Another thing - is there a way to convert Joomla core article content to a Builder article?

This is the basics, I guess, but it's hard to understand from what I see.

Hail to the Joomla community!

Hi there!

Thanks for reaching out.

Are you using the quickstart pack or the templte pack only? You need to mark the Helix Ultimate template as default to see it in your site. Please check the following documentation:

https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/helix-framework/introduction#how-to-set-helix-ultimate-as-the-default-template

You will find menu related settings in the Template Options.

Note: Path (Joomla 4/5): System > Site Templates Styles> Click on your current default template name then choose Template Options. Sample screenshots below:

Yes, if you want you can use Joomla article integration to create articles with SP Page Builder editor, instead the default Joomla editor.

https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/integrations

Yes, Once you set your header, footer in the template's layout, then you will get them throughout the site:

https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/helix-framework/layout-builder

You can create modules and then publish to the desired position, set it for all menus. Then if you edit the module, content will update for all menu pages.

Please check the doc for getting idea on SP Page Builder page, section, and addon reuse process: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/export-import-and-save-for-later-use
