Custom.css Files New Code Ignored, Helixt Ultimate 2.0 , SPPB 3.7.10

Hi, I´m having an issue with the custom.css files. Template is Helix Ultimate 2.0 and SPPB recently updated to 3.7.10. Worked fine so far but yesterday I noticed that new code inserted in custom.css files is ignored. Inspecting code shows former versions of custom.css files inspite of having saved properly and emptied cache several times.
Files are also linked properly, eg. <link href="/templates/shaper_helixultimate/css/custom/custom_responsive.css" rel="stylesheet" />
Inserting custom code into the template´s custome css code field does the job, but this is a workaround, not a solution.

Helix 2.0 is not yet ready for production sites. However, thanks for testing the package and sharing your valuable feedback. Please add an issue on GitHub about this. This will help our developers to fix the issue in the next release.

I know this is beta but I took the risk as it is still some time left until official go live of the site ;-)

Any idea, what´s the reason. Btw. everything was fine until yesterday. Beta seems soon to be ready.
