Helix Framework 2 weeks ago

In at least on instance of an override in the Helix Ultimate Framework 2.1.3, getWebAssetManager is used, which causes the following error in Joomla 3:

Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Document\HtmlDocument::getWebAssetManager()

.../plugins/system/helixultimate/overrides/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php:18

Hello Ryan,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

As you may know, Joomla 6.x will be released soon. Since the new version includes core improvements and structural changes, we need to update our product to ensure compatibility with Joomla 6.x. This will require some adjustments to our framework.

The best approach would be to create a staging site and upgrade your site to Joomla 4.x, 5.x, or 6.x. Once the upgrade is complete and stable, you can then move your live site to the latest version.

If this isn’t possible right now, you can continue using the previous version as a temporary workaround. I’ll also forward this matter to our development team for further review.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Hello,

Please follow @Paul’s directions. Also, keep in mind that when you update the Helix framework to the latest version, you will need to repeat this process.

To avoid repeated issues, it is recommended to upgrade your Joomla site to 4.x, 5.x, or 6.x.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

I don't use Helix Ultimate, but I am reporting this issue as a follow up to an issue reported by one of our users, using JCE Pro in Joomla 3. The same error also occurs with the core CodeMirror editor, so this is not specific to JCE.

This is understandable, but the latest version of the Helix Framework can still be installed in Joomla 3, and still shows Joomla 3 compatability - https://www.joomshaper.com/joomla-templates/helixultimate

Hello,

Yes, this file is not supported in Joomla 3. Please delete this override file from the specified path, and this should resolve your issue.

Thank you,

Please update this, and update the package so it cannot be installed or updated in Joomla 3.

I asked our team for that change. Becuase in Helix documenation I corrected that many months ago.

About 2nd, I am not sure if that is possible with template that is using templateDetails.xml as first step of installing process.
