SP Page Builder Forms Not Sending Email

SP Page Builder 1 month ago

Good day, Joomshaper Team!

I, like many others it appears, have a unique issue with the forms happening, where the form just sits there after send is hit but an email is not actually sending and the redirect is not happening either.

I can confirm that the Joomla email sending capability (SendMail via php) is working fine within Joomla itself (Send Test email button works in Global Configuration). I can also confirm this happens on all SP Page Builder Forms, regardless of the form. Doesn't matter if its a new form, or an existing form that has worked before.

The captcha also resolves correctly, and that I have caching turned on but I don't know what else could be wrong. I also looked at the documentation you have.

This happens on my sandbox website and my live website. Please see the login credentials below and please let me know how you fixed it, so that I can apply the same to my live site.

I have disabled the Cleantalk plugin. Same behaviour.

Hello,

You have written the field names incorrectly. Please do not include spaces in your field name values.

For example, the field names should be formatted like this: • SourceDatabase • Source_Database • source_database

Please fix all field names accordingly and ensure the correct field names are used in the Email Body.

Thank you for your attention.

Best regards,

I just made those changes just now in the Modernize Now form as you suggested and saw that the form in the Footer module never had any spaces in the label, so that cannot be it. The forms also worked on Joomla 3 the same way, but for some reason are still not working.

Hello,

I apologize for the delayed response.

Please update your current SMTP configuration in Global Configuration to use your hosting/cPanel SMTP settings instead. Then, in your Form Builder, review and correct all form field names — some of them appear to have typing errors (please refer to my previous instructions for guidance).

It seems your current SMTP setup is not working correctly with the Form Builder’s recipient and from email fields. Also, ensure that you’re using different email addresses for the “From Email” and “Recipient Email” fields in the Form Builder. Do not use same email that are used on global configuration server email.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Thank you for checking, Ziaul

Two things:

  • the smtp configuration is correct, because I received your test message from the Joomla Global Configuration test last night. I tested the SMTP before and can confirm it working on all forms but the SP Page Builder forms (there are only two forms, the Footer Module that appears on all pages and the Modernize Now SP Page page).

  • The field label or field names in the Footer Module are all correct and while I will make the recommended change now and test it in the Modernize Now form, I can tell you that the exact same forms and configuring on Joomla 3 worked fine for the last few years.

I just made the changes to the Footer module form (on the bottom of each page in the footer) and even removed the Recaptcha, and it still does not send and just refreshes. it doesn sent the message and it does not redirect to the redirect page.

I have now made the changes to the Modernize Now form as well. The same problem persists.

Hello,

Thanks for your patience. I change your current smtp configuration to mailtrap testing smtp configuration and see that footer form submitted successfully.

I still keep configuration for your test.

You can test by your own.

Please, let me know that update. Issues comes from your Office365, maybe they block the form from submission.

Thanks

I changed to the Office 365 configuration and can confirm that the regular SMTP mail function works correctly, when I use the Joomla "Send Test Mail" at the bottom of the GLobal Configuration Server Tab.

I received the test email (see screenshot) and double confirmed the settings are correct (and have been correct over the last 5 years i have used SP Page Builder), the SP forms still do not work. Acymailing forms work, the Joomla internal mail test works, the SP Page Builder Form Builder form does not work (none of them) - which worked with the same configuration in Joomla 3 and Joomla 4, but not in Joomla 5 on my website.

Please help fix this! I replicated this problem on my sandbox and also have had this same problem on the live site.

I apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.

If it’s urgent, as a temporary workaround you can use your cPanel SMTP for now. I am still investigating the issue, and I will let you know as soon as I find a solution.

Thanks.

I have fixed the issue. The problem was caused by incorrect email settings in the Form Builder. It seems the documentation may not have been followed fully.

Thank you.
