Article Detail Page Issue

SP Page Builder 1 month ago

Hi, I've followed how to go about generating an article index page using SPPB, then created the article detail page (articles/:slug).

The index page is working perfectly well and I am able to lay it out how I want. When it comes to the detail page I set up the layout, then goto the front end and click on a displayed article and it's not layed out how I have asked it to be.

I have several Joomla Articles which are pretty basic the content just really being text. Is there a step I'm missing?

Best Tom.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for raeching out to us.

We’ve added a default layout to the Article Details page. If you prefer not to use the default layout, you will need to design your own layout in a SP Page Builder Article Details dynamic page.

This allows you to fully control how individual articles are displayed on the front end.

Thanks

Hi Ziaul,

I've created a custom Article Details page but the content isn't using it. Which is why I'm asking if there is another step other than the Article Detail page.

Best,

Tom.

I know, I followed the documentation. But the content isn't showing.

I always check the documentation before asking questions :)

I have successfully set up Article Index pages, and set up an article detail page ..

I have set the link for a "read more" button to driect the index page to the article detail page ..

But when I test it and click on the Read More button to get to the article .. the page displayed IS NOT the detail page that I had previously set up ..

This is why I'm asking if there is some other step that I have missed.

Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,

Hi, It's currently a development site, so wip. We are trying to get the whole site working how we want it before pushing it over to production.

Details are in the Hidden section, I've given you admin access to the site, if you need more access just let me know.

I apologize for the delayed response. Could you please specify your custom article page id where you added the link to the article details? I noticed that there are two dynamic article pages linked to the details page, and both seem to be redirecting properly when clicked.

Please share a screenshot or screencast of the issue — it will help us provide a more accurate solution as soon as possible.

Thank you.

Hi Ziaul

It's ok, don't worry. We are trying to find work arounds at the moment.

As you can see from the video-cast, the issue. From an article page, one is shown, when you click on a link to display the article it takes you to a generic article page not the designed article slug.

The designed page contains a dedicate title which is not then end title, but should say "Acronym" at the top of the article page. In the preview it shows the slug correcly, but when you click the read more link within the article summary page the article sug is then not displayed.

Any help or pointers would be greatfully recieved.

best, Tom

Hi Ziaul,

It's done ..

Unfortunately one of our developers has modifed the page that was shown in the screen-cast that was shown. As of today the only working article list is under the Facilities and Data > Waste Type Overview.

Best,

Tom.

Sorry for the misunderstanding .. I meant to say the only section where you can see the problem is acilities and Data > Waste Type Overview.

When you select the 'read more' to view the article it doesn't display the stub.

Did you try by creating new one?

I tried deleting the article slug, and re-creating the page, and re-linking it to the dynamic shortcuts on the main overview article page.

The results are the same as they have been that the page doesn't display properly. None of the extra 'test' text that has been added to the page, just to prove that the stub is being used is displayed.
