When I try to create an article using the "Create Article" navigation item, I receive the following error message: Call to undefined method Joomla\CMS\Object\CMSObject::getOptions()

Is this a known issue?

URL: vbu-berater.de, Joomla 4.4.14, PHP 8.2.6, Helix Ultimate 2.2.1

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out. To check the issue from our end, please create a staging site and share its login credentials with us. Make sure you provide only the staging site details, not the live site access. This is important because if any issue occurs while we’re working, it will affect only the staging site, not the live one. We want to maintain full transparency between the user and our support team.

Best regards,

Toufiqur Rahman (Team Lead, Support)

Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply. I've now created a staging site.

The provider doesn't allow me to migrate to Joomla version 5. For testing, I also migrated the site to another server and then updated to version 5 and then 6. I then received a frontend error from the EasyBlog component. After uninstalling EasyBlog, the site worked, and it was possible to create an article via the frontend. I haven't found a solution from the EasyBlog providers, but perhaps this information will help.

Best regards, Sascha Langguth

About EasyBlog - indeed, there is big problem with that component inside Joomla 5.4 - many users had the same issue. They all wait for update from its developer. We even had topic about that >> https://www.joomshaper.com/forum/question/41725 - and one user shared a temporray fix.

About EasyBlog and Joomla 6 forget about that in next week(s). First they have to fix it for J5 and still no update for over a week ;p

Sorry, but we cannot help more in EasyBlog topic, not our software/extension.

Hello,

The Joomla version I'm currently installing is still Joomla 4, and I haven't migrated to 5 yet. Do you have any ideas about this?

  1. Do we talk about Joomla Article or EasyBlog post ?
  2. In Front-end or back-end?

Becuase your Blog section was built using EasyBlog.

I can look only for Articles for obvious reasons. Moment.

I saw that back-end Article editor works OK.

Danke.

  1. EasyBlog (6.0.16) does not fully support PHP 8.2+ and that's why you have "Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property EasyBlogString" messages. That problem is mostly from plugin easyblogcomposer (!) We cannot help with that, not our extension.

  2. About classic Article (front-end) I was able to fix it

on page "neuer-artikel" you have "hidden" errors from EasyBlog plugin:

Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property plgUserEasyBlogUsers::$app is deprecated in /plugins/user/easyblogusers/easyblogusers.php on line 29

Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property plgUserEasyBlogUsers::$input is deprecated in /plugins/user/easyblogusers/easyblogusers.php on line 30

Deprecated: Creation of dynamic property plgUserEasyBlogUsers::$config is deprecated in /plugins/user/easyblogusers/easyblogusers.php on line 31

Those I couldn't correct, not our toys. But Yes, you can add Joomla native Article (from front-end), fixed. Indeed, I forgot about one media file.

Next time, just delete that file:

/templates/shaper_helixultimate/html/layouts/joomla/editors/buttons/button.php

In Joomla 5 & 6 no problems.
