Hi there

Wishful thinking but it would be great to be able to pull data into PageBuilder from a custom non-Joomla database.

Has anyone done this?

Hi,

To display as Table or inside Dynamic Content ?

If 1st, yes done it, but you need external extension (commercial).

If 2nd, in current version is not possible.

One webmaster (forum user) last year developed a custom addon to display content from external file. So also this way is possible if you have skills or buget.

Share more details so we can consider as new feature in the future.

Hi Paul

Thanks for your reply.

This is just a wish list thing but I have found the need to do this a few times.

Because Joomshaper > PageBuilder has it's own Dynamic Content that appears to be less complex than the native Joomla CMS (at least from an end users point of view), it could work well with Joomshaper.

I have seen some other paid 3rd party data importers but they don't have the layout functionality of PageBuilder.

In a perfect world, this would be my ideal:

I have a seperate product database containing many 1000's of products in various categories.

The product database comes from a 3rd party WDSL XML feed so I have to import it in and process it into a seperate MySQL database (which I have).

The issue is that I have to build a bespoke website to handle the search, display and enquiry front end.

It would be much better if I could handle all front end in Joomla > Joomshaper > PageBuilder > Dynamic Content.

I assume that it would need at the very least:

  1. Config to connect to my seperate DB
  2. Component to map fields to Dynamic Content feeds.

Obviously there is much more needed behind the scenes to make this happn but would be a great addition that users would pay for.

Best regards

Justin
