Link Load As Modal

Is there a way to get a link to load in modal instead of redirecting to the selected Menu Item or SP Page?

So the link section has the tabs URL/Menu/Page and the options: +Open in new tab +Add no follow....e.t.c

I have items I'm displaying on the page e.g. (Profile image of a speaker -- assuming speaker has an article or dynamic content with the speaker profile and details.) [same can apply to product]

Now instead of clicking the image and redirecting to detail page, I want the details to show on same page as modal.

The only way I can currently get this done is to add "speaker" as a modal with their profile details in the modal.

The issue with this is that I cant reuse on other pages unless I have to copy and paste to each page. Also say something changes and I need to modify the details. I have to do this to all instances.

Is there a way to just get the linked item to display as a modal? This helps to edit/modify in one location and gets all instances to update.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

At the moment, there is no built-in option to open a linked Menu Item, Article, or SP Page Builder page directly inside a modal instead of redirecting to the target page.

As a workaround, you may consider using the SP Page Builder Modal Popup addon, which allows you to display content within a modal window. You can find more details in the documentation here: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/modal-popup

While this approach requires managing the modal content separately, it is currently the closest available solution for achieving modal-based content display.
