Replace Feature Box With Text Box

I have a section with 3 feature boxes across. I want to replace the center feature box with a text box. How can I do that. If I delete one of the feature boxes, I just have 2 in the row and the remainder is blank. I can't seem to work out how to replace that central column with another

Thank you. I see that the way to do it was to work in the back end. I was trying only from the front end.
