How do I Change To A Vertical Format In The Default Menu For Desktop View, While Maintaining Megamenu Capability?

Hi,

Am using Helix Ultimate at www.certifiedinfosec.com. I want to see how I can emulate the vertical menu layout and function of https://www.leidos.com/ in HU.

  1. How do I get the main menu to display vertically with full megamenu capabilty in desktop view instead of just off-canvas? Can I do this in HU?

  2. I really like how submenu items display in a separate panel beside the main menu instead of nested accordion style. Can I do this in HU?

Even better is if megamenu would be supported for submenus in a vertical in desktop view so I could create megamenu columns/panels across the submenu panel displayed next to the main menu. This would basically create a menu "page" that displays embedded within the menu that pops out as a side panel within the vertical menu itself - much as megamenu does within the current default horizontal layout.

  1. In mobile view, the submenu actually appears as a menu replacement with a "back" link instead of popping into a separate panel like the desktop view does. Can I do this in HU?

Hi there,

The exact same option is not available. However, you can find a similar setting under Helix UltimateTemplate SettingsBasic tab. Please refer to the screenshot for more details.

Thanks. I looked at that.

Oy. Pretty ugly and out-of-date vertical menu IMHO. A top menu + 2-level side vertical menu is fairly common with modern websites these days, and HU's menu layouts haven't changed much (if any) in many years. Maybe this would be something to consider refreshing and modernizing in the template itself. What is currently available looks as old as it is.

In the intereim, I need to find somebody who can help me custom-create a modern menu like the multi-level combo menu at https://www.vanta.com/. Ideas?

You can achieve this buy own customization.

  1. Create a page builder module and load the tab addon. https://prnt.sc/MWbwwDBgCcj7
  2. You have write your own css code for the hover and other style
  3. Output https://prnt.sc/WLgWDPdo4cgO
