Problems Installing Security Helix Patches For Several Websites

Helix Framework 1 week ago

Good morning, I am involved in this security issue with the custom-icon attack. I have downloaded the latest plugins of helix: plg_ajax_helix_3_1_2.zip plg_system_helix_3_1_2.zip

and I am trying to manually install them on several websites, from J4 to J5, various versions.

Sometimes J accept the plugin, sometimes it answers: it is not possible to upload that packets.

Anybody has an answer?

Hi Alleja,

Thanks for reaching out to us.

If these websites are hosted on different servers, the issue may be related to the server configuration. Some hosting providers have security rules or server restrictions that can prevent certain extension packages from being uploaded or installed.

Please check whether there are any server-side security restrictions (such as a web application firewall, ModSecurity, or upload limits) that could be blocking the installation.

If possible, please let us know the exact error message Joomla displays when the installation fails, as this will help us identify the cause.

Best regards,

Please upgrad to J5 latest (Joomla! 5.4.6).

Have you tried install from tmp/ folder with the extracted ZIP archive?

Upload the extracted ZIP contents to /tmp/helix3update - then install from /tmp/helix3update

Could you please share temporary administrator access to your Joomla backend? You can provide the credentials securely in the hidden content section. Also, please take a full backup of your site before we make any changes.

Once I have access, I’ll investigate further and see what’s causing the issue. Let me know once you’ve shared the details!

Best regards,
