Was Hacked And When Upgraded Cant Show Any Page

Helix Framework 1 day ago

I have had several attacks on different websites, and all of the affected sites were using SP Page Builder.

There are two different websites involved:

The first website was running Joomla 3. I tried upgrading it to Joomla 4, but the migration was a mess. Because of that, I decided to build a completely new website instead. I have already purchased additional licenses for your templates for the new site. The second website is also running Joomla 3. I do not want to migrate this one to Joomla 4 yet. However, after updating Helix Framework and SP Page Builder Pro to the latest versions, the frontend stopped working, although the administrator area is still accessible.

The previous attacks were exploiting the Helix 3 Framework, which was running version 2.x. My main concern is avoiding the same security issues while also keeping my websites functional. I don't want to lose any information or run into the same problems again. Please help me put this 2nd site up and running.

I have included the login information in the hidden text below.

Thank you very much for your assistance.

Best regards, Sergio

Hola Sergio,

My main concern is avoiding the same security issues while also keeping my websites functional.

To have secured site, you have two options only:

  1. Secure Joomla 3 as much you can, also with using Firewall and the lastest fixes J3.10.15 elts.
  2. Upgrade site from Joomla 3 > Joomla 4 then to Joomla 5.4.7.

I understand the panic mode & huge stress, but we informed in SPPB documenation, that SPPB 6.6.2 is not for Joomla 3.10. And it will not work inside old CMS. But you installed that anyway!

I think the best option would be to ask your hosting provider (via a ticket system) to recover your website from a backup, for example, 10 days old. Remember to ask them to remove all current files first.

Then you have to update what you can, uninstall all extensions that you don't really need, then install Firewall component and prey.
