Suggestion - a forum section where people can ask / seek general coding help / support ?

Asked by paul 1 month ago Last activity 1 month ago

hi

Does anyone think it would be a helpful & good idea to have a forum section or separate forumfor those of us who need help with various levels of code & design, both with Joomshaper products, templates & joomla itself ?

JS support could chip in if they were feeling generous, of course, but it would be primarily the more experienced JS users helping each other, as well as the newbies and lesser experienced JS users. Include a section for tips & tricks as well maybe ? Could be divided up into extension & template sections, and even general joomla sections.

What do people ( and JS support, who are also people I'm told :) ) think ?

Hi,

Thanks for contacting us. That sounds like a useful idea and could be a great way for community members to help each other with Joomla, coding, templates, and general tips & tricks.

I’ll share your suggestion with our team for consideration. Thanks for the feedback! 👍

General coding help & joomla support always was/is on forum.joomla.org

Well, yes, if it's entirely a joomla issue or area but there are lots of issues or tips & tricks that are sought or can be useful, for those related to joomshaper products, where community discussion & help can potentially reduce the load on the JS support. Layout & design issues sure are based on a joomla base, but joomshaper templates & apps sit on top of that base, along with other externally related issues, so it's not a black & white situation ( ie joomla OR joomshaper ). It's a mix of both.

So a unique forum for community assisted joomshaper related issues ( which by default will involve joomla at some level ) I believe would be a good thing, aside from developing community, which is good for business too. It's often suggested by JS support to seek developer help, but those guys are just too expensive usually for all us folk who are trying to make something with a next to zero budget.

Any joomshaper customers out there care to comment or expand on this idea ?
