Article Addon Freeze Page

SP Page Builder 4 days ago

Hello Team,

We are currently migrating our site from Joomla 3 to Joomla 5/6, as mentioned in a previous ticket.

I’m not sure why, but since this update, the Article Addon in Page Builder freezes the browser and the website when we try to edit an Article Addon on a Page Builder Page. I’m experiencing this issue in both Firefox and Google Chrome.

How can we fix this issue? It is very problematic, as simply navigating through the editing options of an Article Addon can take up to 5 minutes.

All the other Addons work without any issues or unusually long loading times. And I have this problem on all the Page Builder Page. New ones, and older ones of Joomla 3.

Thank you.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by this oversight. Please download the akeeba backup (Latest backup) and share with me via google drive. Cause, I tried to download again and again. But, It's failed to download.

Best regards,

Hi,

By now please use different module that can display Article list/grid. You can use it inside Module addon.

From our side Article addon code must be redeveloped to handle a large number of articles. And as I noticed you have them a lot, more than 56,000. We cannot fix that on the forum by settings, so you have to wait for offcial SPPB update. Thanks for understanding.

Hello,

Thank you for the analysis and for getting back to me!

If there is any fix I can apply before the official update is released, please let me know.

One question, though: is there any risk of performance issues or increased server load on the frontend, especially once we have public users accessing the site? (Before your future update)

On the frontend, I mean regular site navigation (not Frontend Editing mode), I’m not experiencing any slowdowns. However, that may simply be because I’m currently the only visitor.

with Article addon, yes - loading delays can be issue. But it may depends on used category.

We/You have to make more tests. Your artcile database is huge.
