Issues With WebM Videos In SP Pagebuilder

Hi,

I have experienced issues with WebM videos in SP Page Builder, since they are always marked as video/mov, both in the Video addon and background videos.

This works on many devices, but some iPhones seem to validate the MIME type more strictly and refuse to play the file because it's actually a WebM.

Is it possible to fix the MIME type detection, or add an option to select the correct video type for compatibility?

Thanks!

Hello Ofi,

Thank you for checking this. Seems my previous message didn't stored in the forum's reply

I have added the page URL in the Hidden Content section.

I also want to mention that I previously had a temporary JavaScript workaround in place. It detected .webm sources incorrectly marked with another MIME type and changed the type attribute to video/webm in the DOM, then reloaded the video.

I have now disabled that workaround so you can test the page with SP Page Builder's original output and reproduce the issue directly on an affected iPhone.

The JavaScript workaround helped in some cases, but I don't consider it a reliable solution. Ideally, SP Page Builder should output the correct MIME type for WebM files directly in the generated HTML.

Please let me know if you need any additional information or tests from my side.

Best regards, Miguel
