I want to display a header text on my website for everyone EXCEPT the Registered -> Course01 group.

Course01 is a subgroup within the main Registered group. So: Registered -> Course01.

Right now, it displays the header even though the user is NOT a member of the Course01 group and is only active in the Registered group. How is that possible?

Hi,

This is expected Joomla behaviour rather than an SP Page Builder issue.

Group membership is inherited upward: a user in Course01 is automatically also a member of Registered, but a user in Registered is not a member of Course01. Access levels can only grant visibility, never remove it — so while Course01 sits under Registered, no access level can mean "Registered except Course01".

To make the exclusion work, move your regular users out of the parent group:

  1. Users → Groups: create a group e.g. Members with Parent = Registered, move your normal registered users into it, and set it under Users → Manage → Options → New User Registration Group.
  2. Users → Access Levels: create a level e.g. Non-Course and tick only Members (plus your Guest group if logged-out visitors should see the header). Do not tick Public or Registered.
  3. Select that level in the section/addon's Access option.

Afterwards, clear the Joomla cache and test in a private window with a real Course01 account — Super Users always see everything.

If it still displays, please share the page URL and a test login in the Hidden Content box below and we'll check the configuration.

Best regards,
