Hi,
from time to time there is a update for the template helix ultimate but not for the plugin so that we have different versions. Isn't it necasarry to have same version for plugin and template?

At least now, both the Helix Ultimate template and the Helix plugin are on v2.2.10.
Second, if you updated the Helix template, its package includes the Helix plugin, so nothing to worry about.

In the past i've downloaded the newest template and plugin an then i've installed both about joomla installer becaus from time to time update did not work.

Looking at the files of helixultimate_template_v2.2.10.zip and there are folder template and plugins. So as you say the plugin is already in the template pack.

The Helix Ultimate template and plugin are maintained separately, so their version numbers do not necessarily need to match.
Sometimes, an update includes changes or fixes specific to the template, while the plugin does not require any changes. In such cases, only the template version is updated.
The important thing is to ensure that both the template and plugin are using compatible versions.
We recommend keeping both updated to their latest compatible versions whenever updates are available.
