Anobiz - SP Page Builder Frontend Editor Disappears When Clicking Accordion Title

Asked by Martin Grunert 1 week ago Last activity 2 days ago

There seems to be an issue with the Anobiz template when using the SP Page Builder frontend editor.

The Accordion addon is displayed correctly. However, when I click directly on the Accordion title in the frontend editor, the entire SP Page Builder editor interface disappears instead of opening the addon settings.

Clicking on the Accordion content/text below the title does not cause this issue.

Therefore, the issue is reproducible with Anobiz on three separate installations.

Hi Martin,

Thank you for reaching out to us.
I have attempted to reproduce the issue on your test page. I also created a new page, titled “test1,” and tried to replicate the issue there. However, everything appears to be working as expected.

For your reference, I have attached a screencast video in the Hidden Content section demonstrating the steps I followed.

Could you kindly review the video and let me know whether I have followed the correct steps to reproduce the issue? If I have missed anything or if there are any additional steps I should follow, please do let me know.

I look forward to hearing from you and appreciate your time and cooperation.

Hi Anne,

Thank you so much for your video and your input.

What I don't understand is that I can't reproduce the error on that domain anymore either. :O

BUT I have the template on three live sites, and the problem is reproducible there.

In the hidden content, there’s a link to my video that shows the error. You can edit everything in the front end, but as soon as you click on the accordion title, the SPPB input disappears.

I’ve also set up access for you on the other domain. You can use the same login credentials as on the first domain.

Hi Martin,

Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience. I’ve been able to identify the issue on the new domain you kindly shared with us.

To investigate this further and find the best possible solution for you, could you kindly create a backup of your website using Akeeba Backup and share the ZIP file with me via the Hidden Content box? This will allow me to set up the website in my local environment and investigate the issue more thoroughly, helping me get to the root of the problem and work towards a proper resolution.

Thank you so much for your patience and cooperation, Martin. I’ll do my very best to investigate this thoroughly and help you get everything working as expected.

Hi Anne,

Thank goodness it's not just me. ;)

And please, no excuses - different systems, different settings - things can always happen. So it's not that tragic! :)

Dear Toufiq,

It would be helpful to read the entire ticket history, which confirms that the error can no longer be reproduced on the original domain. To that end, I have already made a second domain available where the error can be reproduced, as Anne has also confirmed.

Just slapping up three pictures without any explanation - well...

I’ve requested access to view the screenshot.

Hi Martin,
Please take our humble apology for the misunderstanding . Unfortunately, The team is unable to access the link at the moment, as we don’t seem to have the necessary permissions. Could you kindly change the General Access settings to allow access via the link?
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Hi Anne,

No problem. :)
And you're right - my mistake; I forgot to adjust the access permissions. It should work now.

Martin Grunert Asked this

I will check it. - Thanks Toufiq

Sure! Let me know the update. Thanks

Now things are getting really interesting: Helix's latest version, ODLF 2.1.1

Demo page - the issue appears
Another website (same settings, plugin active) - no issue https://prnt.sc/f0DzQohaqDj1

I'll take a look at the plugin this afternoon and try to troubleshoot it...

Martin Grunert Asked this

I found the issue.

It was caused by the OD Local Fonts integration for SP Page Builder. While scanning the builder data for the “Local Fonts” group, the plugin accessed an item value without first ensuring that it could be read safely.

In this particular setup with Anobiz, SP Page Builder provided an object where that value was exposed through a getter. Accessing it triggered an error because an internal value was undefined, which then caused the frontend editor to stop working.

This also explains why I could not reproduce the problem with my other SP Page Builder setups and templates: the problematic code was present there as well, but they did not expose the same object structure.

I have adjusted the integration so these values are now handled safely.

Thanks for helping me track this down.

Hi Toufiq,

thank you! :)

I actually already left a 5-star review for SP Page Builder on the Joomla Extensions Directory several years ago. ;)

Just a small note regarding the JED link in your reply: it currently leads to an empty page. It seems that JoomShaper products are no longer listed in the Joomla Extensions Directory, so you may want to update or remove that part of the standard reply.

Thanks again for your help!

We will check and update the URL. Thank you
