Please take a full site backup with Akeeba Backup in ZIP format and then update your site at your own risk. Follow this tutorial. Since the template has not been updated recently, the updates might bring some issues. Or it might go well too. So, better approach will be take a backup, install on your server and update and check. If the update does not suit, then you have the original site untouched.
