Created Menu Links To Create A Blog From Articles. Issues.

I cannot figure out what is causing the problem. I imported articles from another site using J2XML, which always works well. I am able to create the blogs, separated by categories, however, I the articles are not following my settings (do not show date of publish, etc.). I have also created new articles, put them into the blog categories, to test and those do not even show up. So I am puzzled. I cannot seem to get these blog articles to follow the article settings. Any ideas???
