Working With SP Pagebuilder And JCE

So that a cllent can use Pagebuilder to easily add in elements... I want to know if it is possible to insert Add-On elements directly into an article while using JCE.

Yes, I know I can copy pages into a new pagebuilder page and use text block, but that's a lot of work for a site that has hundreds of pages.

Is there shortcode of some kind that allows for embed of an Add On directly into an existing article, ideally using JCE?

if not... is there a tool that will convert existing articles into Pagebuilder Pages, ie, putting all text into a Text Block and then into a Page? Converting all editing over to Page Builder instead of JCE? I purchased PRO to try this. Not having much luck. A list of shortcode for all the add ons and a way to insert would be perfect.

Hi David,

JCE is Text editor, not Page Builder. In SPPB Pro 3.x you can use JCE editor (instead of default TinyMCE) only as toolbar in Text addon, Feature Addon, ex. those where is textarea fields.

Addons =/=Shortcodes and they will never be.

About Migration - there is no such tool, you have to do it manually. But think 2x do you really need SP PB for all articles. The concept for Page Builder is to use it only on those "pages" where you need extra design features, not solid text.

As I know the upcoming SPPB 4.x will get only front-end editor.

I was hoping I could insert an Add on into a normal article, as one does with regular labs' Modules Anywhere, that an Add On could be treated like a module. I'll see what I can do vis a vis the templates' headers and footers (and assign different for certain sections).

Thank you for your quick response.

Yes, you can use SPPB Modules also inside articles:

  1. by Joomla shortcodes for modules
  2. or by RegularLabs tool which you mentioned above
  3. or just publish in template module position. BTW Helix Ultimate has also two hidden ones: content-top and content-bottom.

But as shortcode for addon - it doesn't work.

Hi Paul.

As I know the upcoming SPPB 4.x will get only front-end editor.

Oh!... Offtop, but... If so, it can be very dangerous. In the case of a conflict of frontend editor with third-party extensions or inaccessibility of some things through frontend editor (like addon in absolute position), we will not be able to correct it through the backend interface. Backend must be necessarily like a duplicate option.

Hopefully, in SPPB 5.x we have both editors. Back-end and Front-end as it was in SPPB 3.x
