Front End Editing Changes Article Options After Save

Helix Framework 3 years ago

Hi!

If I change an article in Joomla's front end editing, there are option settings of the article (e.g. show intro text), that are reset on save. This only happens, if Helix Ulitimate Framework (1.1.1-2.0.6) is enabled.

I tested this behavour in a newly installed Joomla 3.10.4 using the standard template too.

Hi Toufiq!

Due to corporate rules and law restrictions, I am not allowed to give you access.

Please create a sample Joomla installation with your Helix Ultimate plugin to follow the nine steps I described above.

I'm sorry for the inconveniance, thanks. Thomas

Thanks Toufiq!

First time J4 :-). But the result is the same.

I had to change the options "Intro Text" for content in general to "Hide". In the backend I set "Intro text" for the article on "The Making of a Legacy: First Steps in the Trump Era" to "Show". In the frontend I logged in and added a line at the end and saved the article. Now the intro is missing and the option "Intro text" in the backend of this article is reset to the global option "Hide".

This resetting behaviour applies to all options of the article - even layout overrides .....

Thanks, Thomas

No, I don't want to hide the introtext from the details page of this article. But: the introtext becomes hidden after editing the text on front end. Thanks

Thank you very much Toufiq. Joomla 3.x has the same issue. I've been searching for the cause of it for days because there are lots of editors working in six langauges from different countries on our page.

I have tested editing an article in frontend of a page using J3 with Helix Ultimate 2.0.6 enabled. The intro is not visible any more after the edit in full article view.

The default setting for articles for Intro Text was set to "On" in content/options. After setting the global setting to "Off" and the article setting to "On" the result is what I try to communicate.
