Modifying Layout Of Modules In Article

Dear sir/madam,

I will like to seek advice to make the following amendments in the article view of the website:

  1. Insert a banner module on the right column and top of the article.

  2. Removing the "prev" and "next" below the article.

  3. Modifying author display at the bottom of the article to show for eg:

Kawshar Ahmed Rob Harris is the National Affairs Editor for Newsberg and The Age, Proudly based at Berlin Germany

instead of just

Admin name "no description"

I tried using the SP page builder but unfortunately to no avail.

OK, done. You can use right module position in all articles. Publish there any module you need. I put there two already.

Hi Ray,

  1. It's a Joomla basic core settings, you can disable it from Articles - Options - Navigation: Off. Yes, I already done it.
  2. Like above, Joomla core feature. Users - Account Details - Name. Easy to set, as I did.

I think you have to study Joomla Basics as well. It can help understand how this CMS works, and what is from Joomla itself and what is from template etc.

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for the guide!!

Yes indeed, I will endeavour to know more about the Joomla basics, just that the UI for Joomla 4 is slightly different from Joomla 3.

For 1) was hoping to use the banner component.

Wishing you and your team a happy new year in advance!

so first create/add banners inside banner component, then Add Banner module.

Then you can use it for example in those module positions: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/joomla-templates/newsberg/layout-module-positions

There is also "content-top" position above the component area.

Dear Paul,

Many thanks for your help. I have managed to creat the banner component.

However, when I put the banner component over the 'right' module position, it does not appear on the right of the article but rather at the bottom of the page. The banner appears well on the homepage though.

You may see the disalignment in the link under hidden content.

Any way for me to resolve this?

In that template it won't be so simple, somebody from out team forgot to make it easy.

Share access to admin area (below) I will try to think harder

Apologies Paul, forgot to include the admin access as it was in the preceding emails.

Added it again in the hidden area. :)
