Custom 404 Page Not Working

SP Page Builder 3 years ago

I have created a custom SP Page Builder 404 page following the directions in https://www.joomshaper.com/blog/create-a-custom-joomla-404-page-with-sp-page-builder

Unfortunately, it isn't working. When I intentionally use an invalid url it throws two TypeErrors and simply redisplays the Home page.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. Home page redirect has an issue. Almost we have fixed our end and we are testing our end. Hold on for the next release. We will release it as soon as possible.

-Thanks

Would you have a ballpark guess/estimate on how long the update will be? I am getting some pressure to resolve the issue so it would help to have an answer (even if it's a long time - better than no timeframe at all). I certainly understand why it's a sensitive/difficult topic but I had to ask.... Thanks.

Hi, if the update you are referring to is SP Page Builder 3.8.3 (released today) then, unfortunately, it doesn't solve the problem. Still seeing the same errors.

Note: I noticed just now that the URL I provided initially was to our production site (sapfm.org) which has not been modified to use this 404 error handling approach. I have updated the hidden data to point you to our development site (where the error can be found).

Unless I made some mistake, and I have reviewed/checked it multiple times, following the instructions provided in your article (cited in the original note of this thread) will generate two errors:

Uncaught TypeError: "...tooltip is not a function" (coming from "/components/com_sppagebuilder/assets/js/jquery.parallax.js")

and

Uncaught TypeError:"... Cannot read properties of null (reading 'data')" but, I suspect, is just a knock-on error from the original jquery problem.

Works fine now, thanks. I need to know what you changed so I can make it work on our production site...

I just created a 404 menu inside the hidden menu and replaced the existing code that you have used before on your error.php page.

The only change I see is that the new 404 menu item is on the Hidden menu (and not "hidden"). The menu item that I created was on the Main menu (and "hidden").

Am I missing any other change?

Thanks again for your help.

No need keep it hidden if you assign your menu item under hidden menu. Thanks
