Javascript Conflict - Helix Ultimate - Confirmed By StackIdeas

StackIdeas, has identified a bug in the newest version of Helix Ultimate.

Here is their suggested temporary bug fix:

In addition to StackIdea products, this is affecting other areas of the website.

Here is their reply to my ticket (edited for clarity):

I temporary fixed the error in the following file:

  • /public_html/templates/shaper_helixultimate/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js

This conflict causes the EasyDiscuss Javascript toolbar not to trigger.

However, I am unable to fix the styling issues due to the above conflict.

I think you have to report this issue to the template provider regarding this, I noticed that sometimes will not hit this Javascript error but sometimes it hits.

I switched to T4 to test.

Issues dissapear with that backup template.

This is definetly a Helix issue.

I discovered three areas that are affected by this bug:

  • StackIdea
  • CMS Junkie
  • J!Extensions Store (not yet confirmed)

Likely other issues that I have not yet discovered.

Ugurr Uygur,

For me, this solved the StackIdeas Toolbar issue, maybe. I need to confirm that StackIdeas removed the bug fix they applied eailery today.

However, it did not solve the CMS Toolbar issue. However, the issue does not exist in T4.

I am still waiting from a response from J!Extensions Store to see what they suggest on their issue as well. I might add it is possible this issue is not a Helix issue. Wait and see.

You may be right. Let's wait for the dev thoughts on this issue.

I've updated StackIdeas on the issue.

I suggested they try changing the FRoC setting as you suggested.

For me it seemed to work, but I'll let them decide as they did suggest it does not happen all the time:

I noticed that sometimes will not hit this Javascript error but sometimes it hit.

They should also provide additional input into this issue tomorrow.

On their last post, they indicated they were able to provide guidance on this issue, if necessary.

However, they also indicated the issue is being cases by the Helix Javascript file:

I think you have to report this issue to them even they slow respond to you because that error reported is related to their Javascript file .../templates/shaper_helixultimate/js/bootstrap.bundle.min.js.

Yep decided to test the new Helix Ultimate (framework and raw template) on a dev version of my site, all looks good however it kills the Breezingforms component, i.e certain buttons do not work (calendar datepicker popups etc) don't know if its related but works fine on the older version of Helix Ultimate

I am wondering if the file mentioned above is in anyway related to Inspect errors being reported on this post:

What is very odd is that this bug is affecting the products of some of the most elite Joomla coders, which in most cases it is impossible to find a single bug.

The issue seems to relate to toolbars / tabs.

So if you installed v2.0.7 on a production website, you better check the toolbars / tabs.

Here are the reported affected toolbars / tabs so far:

  • EasyDiscuss (add a blog page "+")
  • J-Business Directory (End-User Edit Listing Page)
  • Breezingforms (calendar datepicker popups etc)
  • J!Extensions Store (not yet confirmed)

Here is an image to give people an idea of the types of areas to test on their websites:

Hi

I have conflict on Chronoforms with "dropdown" and "modal" elements.

Conflict is in bootstrap.bundle.min.js

If I replace get NAME(){return"dropdown"} by get NAME(){return"X"} in bootstrap.bundle.min.js, Chronoforms dropdown works. The same with "modal"...

You can try with get NAME{return"button"}...

This error has caused so much difficulties that I had to switch to another template provider, while waiting for this issue to be fixed.

No longer can I rely on Helix alone as it seem to break my website after every update.

Helix is NOT for production websites with this JS error.

JS conflicts hidden everhwhere.

Hi there,

Thanks for contacting us. Sorry for the inconvenience. I have discussed this with our team and they inform me this is not our product issue. They need to make it compatible with bootstrap 5 and they shouldn't modify the core bootstrap file.

-Thanks

Toufiq,

Please contact your developement team again.

Tell them this:

The tool bar works fine on T4 and Cassiopedia, but does not work on Helix.

I am having problems uploading "Featured Image" for default Joomla articles. Can anyone confirm if they are having this problem?

I'm just banking on that this uploading bug is related to this Javascript error.

I found that the image does upload to images but is not linked or shown after uploading.

I confirmed no issues testing on T4, but did not test it in Cassiopedia.

Please note, this bug happens sometimes but not all the time, but happens more likely than not.

Can you give me your site administrator access to check the issue?
