Default Image Addon With Lightbox Shows Grey Rectangle, Only Shows Image When Opening Lightbox

The default image addon with lightbox option only shows grey rectangle, only shows image when opening lightbox. When I replace the default scooter-image with my onw image, a blurred image / overlayed image is shown. How can I have this image show the normal image in both both situations ( lightbox closed and lightbox open)

Currently on SPPB v3.8.6, issue also in SPPB v3.8.6.
I noticed it takes a long time before the image is shown, and it happens on every refresh
