How can I solve this?

No news, we both have to wait for Helix update. You can control only by height setting by now.

Hi Laurent.
- In Template Options > Blog > Images -- remove creating thumbnail (uncheck it) - Save settings.
- Upload all blog images again.
- Clear Joomla cache.
- That's all

Yes, I saw that "thumbnails" are still generated even they shouldn't be.
Hmmm...
Maybe enable again, but increase height value + add 50px more
