Copy Posts / Import And Export Page Builder Content

Hello Joomshaper Team,

I am impressed by the new Page Builder Pro, great performance!

Now to my little problem: I only use the Page Builder in Joomla posts. Unfortunately, I have problems with cloning posts.

If you copy a Joomla post, the Page Builder content is not copied along with it. The post is then empty.

Alternatively, I have tried to create a copy as follows:

  1. export Page Builder content
  2. create a new Joomla post
  3. import Page Builder content

Unfortunately, importing the .json file did not work. No feedback was received.

My two questions:

  • Will it be possible to copy Joomla posts with Pagebuilder content in future?
  • Will it be possible to import Pagebuilder content via .json in the future?

Thanks and best regards Bertil

Hello Bertil Braun

Please share an example of what you are trying to copy/paste. In the SP Page Builder page, sections/rows can be copied and pasted with content. Please share a screenshot of your issue to understand it better. Take a screenshot and share via any platform. For example: Lightshot

Best regards

Hi Ofi Khan,

sorry - wrong terminology - I mean Joomla "articles" not "posts" ...

If you copy a Joomla article with SP Page Builder content, the Page Builder content is not copied along with it. The article is then empty.

Alternatively, I have tried to create a copy as follows:

export Page Builder content create a new Joomla article import Page Builder content

Unfortunately, importing the .json file did not work. No feedback was received.

... if you still need screenshots i will be happy to create them for you

Best regards

I got it now. Regular copy/paste option like save as copy does not copy the content of article. But export/import works fine on my end. Please share your administrator access here to check the issue. Use the Hidden Content box to share the credentials. Make sure that you have a full site backup with you before sharing.

Hello Ofi Khan, thank you very much for the offer. I'll have to discuss this with the admin, maybe he'll create a clone of the website only for to test. I'll get back to you later :)

Hello Ofi Khan,

I have cloned the website. When I tried the clone, I noticed that the import and export worked here and not in the other version.

We then checked the security settings, they were all the same.

But the PHP versions were different:

Import and export work with PHP 7.4.30.

It does not work with PHP 8.0.2.3 .

That was the whole problem.

Is it possible to note the PHP version next to the download button on your website? That might make it easier?

Maybe they can already optimise the import/export function for PHP version 8? That is the way of the future.

Thanks and best regards Bertil :)

Yes, it will be optimised very soon. Right now, 8.0.0 should work fine with our products.
