the menu is different layout than before but the color scheme is the same as it was in my initial question.

Sorry its not set by the full width but you may use this CSS in your custom.css file

.sp-megamenu-parent .sp-dropdown li.sp-menu-item>a{
    padding-right: 35px !important;
    padding-left: 35px !important;
}

Well, that's too bad because the solution you gave me is not a solution, it does not work.

It does not possible to set it full width. There are some other CSS which is effected on that. So my suggestion will be you can keep a backup and receate this menu again.
