Hi there,

I just installed the Wimble J4 Quick Start package. I don't want the Coming Soon page. I only want to use the regular Offline mode. I tried disabling via Template > Options > Basic but it's still appearing. How do I disable the Coming soon page? Please advise.

Thanks, Nader

Hi

Thanks for contacting us. Site offline has to be disabled in both the template options (coming soon) and in the global configuration (site).

Hi Mehtaz,

I think I'm getting the hang of it. I didn't realize that Offline mode and coming soon are tied together. How do I remove the site name? I don't want it there, especially in big red letters. I believe its pulling from the Offline mode under global config and is a required field, but I don't want it there. How do I hide this?

I used custom.css file to modify it but I don't know if this is the smartest way to do it. Is there an easier way to keep the required field filled out in global config but simply NOT appear in the Coming Soon page?

Updated: My site won't work anymore. Can you please let me know what is going on? It just shows the logo after I log in. It will not display the site.

Thanks, Nader

Apologies, but I honestly can't wait 19+ hours for support or a response. Is there a ticketing system? The entire coming soon vs offline mode is confusing.

All I want is the simple login prompt and my logo; a simple offline mode screen. How do I do this?

Thanks, Nader

Sorry for the delay. My duty time was over that's why late reply.

Have you turned on the offline mode in the System > Global configurations, please? Kindly check and if it is on turn it off.

Please turn on it from here. And I dont know what's going on your site. I didn't go to your site.

Hi Mehtaz,

The coming soon page will NOT turn off even though its disabled in every template copy under template styles. I want the normal joomla login page with logo using offline mode. That's all. Feel free to log in yourself using the username and password in the hidden content to see.

This has to be a bug because it doesn't make any sense. I need a solution for this.

Feel free to duplicate the issue using my login information in the hidden content area. Is there a workaround in the meantime? Can I add code to force the coming soon page to disable in one of the php files? Please advise.

I decided to go another route and create a different way to log in. Please fix the bug of the coming soon page displaying despite all the copies of the template being disabled. This is an issue that goes back a few years it seems and still exists. It needs to be resolved. I will check this thread routinely to see if a fix/plan is in place. Thanks.

Hi Nader A.,

i worked around this way: In template options activate coming soon, now delete all entries and deactivate it again, then save.

I have the problem that I couldn't log in in the frontend while coming soon is activatet. For this I activatet the "Website offline" in the system settings, activatet coming soon, deletet all entries, then I deactivated "coming soon" and saved the template and it worked for me.

But if you doing something in the template options, then the coming soon is "active" again, although it's deactivatet.

For me it's really annoying and irritating...

Thanks, Sergej. I appreciate the comment. Yes, it is very frustrating. I'm finding myself having to come up with different ways I want to set this up. I ended up deleting the whole site and starting over again. I'm going to simply create a new hidden menu that has "User Login" as the menu item and redirect to the homepage while also changing all menu items shown to "Registered". This is going to be a private site so this may be a better way for me.

The most annoying thing is that if the coming soon is disabled but offline mode is enabled, you can't add a logo. It simply won't show, but if you add the logo via coming soon then you've enabled it and, like you said, the login prompt disappears.

What bothers me the most is that these are known bugs and really should be taken care of asap.

Again, thanks for your input!

Hi Nader,

Please first offline your site and enable the coming soon mode. Then off the coming soon and check if there are any changes here or not. In general, when coming soon is enabled then it is showing the timer. If it will not show the timer after enabling the coming soon then please let me know so that I can forward it to our team again. By the way, when I logged in to your site it seems like this on my end.

https://prnt.sc/HKINqIr8m9xR

That's why I am not able to check your site. So please follow the process and let me know.

Thanks.

Hi Mehtaz,

As I stated earlier in the thread, I reinstalled the package and just starting over. I'm not using offline mode or coming soon anymore. I'm trying a different way to log in, so you can just ignore this thread (except please find a solution for the coming soon displaying and persisting even when disabled issue).

Thanks, Nader

Hi, just wanted to share that I am having this exact same problem:

The coming soon page will NOT turn off even though its disabled in every template copy under template styles. I want the normal joomla login page with logo using offline mode.

If I turn on maintenance mode with the template 'coming soon' feature turned off, it still shows the coming soon resources, but there is no login module any more. Even if I turn coming soon back on, I can't get back to having a login box. Definitely something very broken with this feature. I cleared all my caches, cleared my browser cache, checked everything, but no joy.

So I wanted to revert back to the default Joomla offline mode which you know, just works. But no, I can't!

Simple solution:

In the template folder, back up the offline.php file (which is what powers the under maintenance page) and then delete it. Back to the standard Joomla offline page. Tada!
