Unable To Preview Pages In SP Page Builder While Coming Soon Page Is Active

Hello,

I’m having an issue previewing my pages while the Coming Soon page is enabled.

I’m using the shaper_strings – Default template. I already followed the instructions provided: the Coming Soon page is displaying correctly on the front end.

However, when I click Preview Page inside SP Page Builder, I still see the Coming Soon page instead of the actual page I am building. This prevents me from reviewing my work as I construct the site.

What I need: Guidance on how to preview the content of the pages I’m building while visitors continue to see only the Coming Soon page.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Hola Nuria,

My personal advice is, for time of website edition (hour or two) just disable Comming Soon, and enable Joomla Offline mode.

There are also other methods, but needs a little bit more efford.

Thanks for your advice, Paul. I tried that method first and ran into the same issue—I still couldn’t preview what I was working on. I also need much more than two hours, since I’m building the site from scratch. The domain was used previously and still receives some visitors, so it’s important for me to hide my work-in-progress.

Could you explain the other methods, even if they’re more complex? Thanks.

2nd method is also easy, but it takes extra few minutes.

  1. Using SPPB create a Coming Soon page.
  2. Set that page as default, visible for "public" (default access).
  3. In Templates Styles - make "clone" of your template "Save as Copy". Disable Predefined Header, Remove Bottom and Footer positions, keep only component. Then assign that "limited" template to Coming Soon page menu item. You can do that from Menu Manager or Template "Menu Assignment" tab.
  4. To be extra protected (it may be not needed) all main menu items from MainMenu make visibile only for register user.
  5. Then typical user will see only Coming Soon page, and nothing more. And you can go to subpage by using menu alias of 2nd or 3rd menu item, for example, my-site.com/prices and there you will see all menu items.

extra tip! In Global Configuration > System (tab) > Shared Sessions: YES > Save & Close

Later, after X weeks, all you have to do is: In Main Menu change default home page (1), disable coming soon menu item(2), and make all menu items visibile for Public (3).

Que tengas un buen día.
