Hide Image For Mobile Not Working

I have a jpg image on my home page that appears way too large when viewed on a mobile phone. So I tried selecting the option 'Hidden on Mobile'. The image remained visible. I also tried 'Hidden on Desktop' to see if that worked but and again the image remained visible.

Are there any plans to make it so images are resized to fit mobile screens or to make it so the Hidden options can be used?

Also, it would be so much better if when adjusting image sizes, the x and y axis pixels could adjust in proportion to one another automatically. I have been using gimp to open images and resize to find the most suitable options.

If required, you may need to specify different dimensions for images according to the device with @media query statements in your custom CSS. https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/css3_pr_mediaquery.php

Is the image within the SPPB "image" addon?

I'm not seeing the behaviour you describe, when using the "image" add-on in SPPB. If I select the "hidden on desktop", I can simply see this in action by adjusting the browser window portal (viewing area) size and see the image show for mobile/tablet but not for desktop, or select the 'screen size' icon from the top of the screen to see it in preview mode.

Thanks again for offering advice. I am not very motivated where it comes to editing CSS. My preference from past experience is to keep components standard.

The SPPB image was added to one of the style block - one of the ones categorised as a 'feature' I think - so I just assumed it should work as is without need to make any adjustments other than replacing text, images and links. I replaced the image with a jpg and adjusted the x-y dimensions to suit. It looks great in the desktop view.

I wonder then, if this is working for you with the "image" add-on, could there be a configuration problem with the style block?

Hi Bruce,

on your site you have many images, about which one we are talking about.

Besides you can always use different Row for Mobile view.

Hi Paul

Thanks for checking my site. I was referring to the photo of a person's thin legs on tip-toes and wearing blue jeans.

But I have since reduced the image size which is now better on Mobile view.

I did not realise you can use a different row for Mobile view. Something to investigate. I did try hiding the image in Mobile view but that did not work.
