Countdown Off By 1 Day

The countdown plugin shows the correct date and time when I'm in the editor. However, after saving, when I go to the site it's always off by 1 day exactly.
For example, it will say there are 9 days, 3 hours and 2 minutes left when it should be 10 days, 3 hours and 2 minutes left.
My php.ini and Joomla server are set to America/Chicago time zones.

Accepted AnswerWas there ever a solution for this? The problem continues today. Countdown is correct on the editor, but off by one day on the working site.
