ONE HROU WORK GONE - This is A Nightmare !

SP Page Builder 2 years ago

I have just spent 1 hour working on translating a page into another language. I initially created this page , saved it with some text to make sure it is all working. I reopened it and one line of text was there. I then started working on a translation and hour later I saved it. Then I reopened the page and my ALL WORK IS GONE BECAUSE I GET ERROR-404.

WTF is going on with SPPB. IT is becoming completely unreliable ! I just saw a post of another user who had lost multiple documents (pages) from existing sites.

I reported this problem several times. Today I have found some guidelines on SPPB documentation , so I did some adjustments through cPANEL hoping this would help. Now all my work is gone again ? !!!

UPDATE: After some testing I noticed that the problem happens when I change a language for the page. Then suddenly I get Error-404. This obviously looks like a bug .

**VERY SERIOUS BUG !

Imagine somebody working on a single page entire day and at the end of the day he/she assigns a different language and all the work is gone ! **

I REALLY WANT SOMEBODY TO RESPOND HERE ASAP. AT THIS MOMENT I AM NOT ABLE TO USE THIS PRODUCT :-(

I think you were right about the language setup. I have had one setting missing (un-set) and looks like this was causing problem. I changed it and now it works. I have to apologize for my TO EARLY JUDGEMENT. Looks like this was not caused by SPPB bugs. You helped me again a lot and again I have to say - YOU ARE THE MOST HELPFUL PERSON ON THIS FORUM.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you ;-))

PS> HERE IS THE LESSON FOR ANY ONE HAVING ISSUES LIKE THIS: Create two pages (in 2 languages) using standard Editor and make sure the translation works using standard methods. There is an extra Module which should be enabled to show the Language status. It is very helpful. Once you see all columns (in that module check-green) then you can start using SPPB with multiple languages. If any of those are unchecked - you will run into problems. /I wish I could know that earlier,... (HTH)

Hi. Just advice. Work on content and translation using Word, Google Docs and ect. Then you will not lose anything. Bad practice - to work with this right on the site page.

And I assume that in fact you have not lost anything, just did not completely configure the multi-languages on the site. Perhaps I'm mistaken, because I do not use SPPB 4. But with SPPB 3, such problems arise precisely because of this.

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I have seen your message about using SPPB v3, but on this site it is impossible to go back. The language settings seem to be configured correctly and I do not see the reason the page would be gone (even if the settings are incorrect).
I have done translation on multiple sites just on the spot, editing text on the page and never had any problems. Those sites however did not use SPPB. Joomla's language associations are very comfortable to use.

YES - I HAVE LOST OVER ONE HOUR OF MY WORK and still see no solution to the issue, because whenever I change the language from English to another one the page disappears. I posted a message about the problem 2 months ago, but at that time I was not aware it is related to the language. Created NEW page with one sentence, changed the language saved, and it is gone. I will try to see if I can change the language setting directly in the table record...

do you know what tables are used to store pages ?
