I am having the same issue. I make changes to an SP Page Builder page, Save (or Save & Close), but the page is not changed. Noticed this after upgrade to Joomla 4.3.0, seeing same issue whether on front end or back end editing (SPP 3.8.9).

  • My issue was that changes to SP Pagebuilder content was not being saved. I would get a message saying the page WAS saved, but it was not getting saved. I did not get the error message listed above. Everything looked like it worked except the changes were not saved.

* I got my issue to resolve by reloading SP Pagebuilder 3.8.9 again. Looks like loading of Joomla 4.3.0 caused the issue, and reloading SP Pagebuilder resolved it.

More information about the problem:

  • New pages with all new content have no problem. They can be saved etc.
  • If you save a block from an old page that has a problem, and import it into a new page, the new page won't save.
  • New pages appear to have detailed "parent" information that is missing in the old pages that won't save.

If you look at the data in the database, the text data for old pages that won't save end like this: "parent":false}]

If you look at the data in the database for new pages, there is detailed "parent" informatioon present.

I don't know if this is relevant or not, but I hope this information will be useful in locating the source of the problem. Our website has MANY pages and we can't rebuild all of them. We need to be able to use the existing pages. Can you plesae help us find the solution for this?

Hi Christian, Yes, I tried the solution proposed by Philip Galinas. In our case, it makes no difference. Thank you. And thank you, Philip for the suggestion.

I find my Chrome browser causes 75% of refresh errors of not showing changes. One day I spent 4 hours troubleshooting it until I figured it out. When I work in Edge, everything changes instantly.

I'm trying a fresh install of everything on a new site, hoping that I can import the exported pages and get something working without having to rebuild every page...

Hi Lorvar, thanks for the thought. Brave, Edge, Chrome and Firefox all have the same problem with the same error visible in Inspect, in this case the errors are the same across browsers.

They also indicate a problem in the data being saved. Again, thanks for the ideas.

Got this working by disabling "mod_security" as recommended here: https://www.joomshaper.com/documentation/sp-page-builder/sp-page-builder-4/technical-requirements

It was strange because everything had been working well for several weeks, when suddenly we could no longer save pages.

Thanks to everyone who looked at the problem!
