Backend SP Page Builder Broke After Update To 3.8.10

Hi,

After updating to 3.8.10 on Joomla 4.3.1 on several sites some add-ons fail to load on the backend. I've experienced this with the add-on 'Header' (see screenshot), but on another site it was the add-on 'Clients'.

For now I downgraded tot 3.8.9 and the issue is fixed.

Can you deliver a fix for this in 3.8.10?

Regards, Roel Kamels B.V.

Hoi,

we didn't change anything in addons in that update. Hard to say why it happended on your case.

Q: Have you tried with different browser.

and with cleaned browser cache?

On my private site J4.3.1 + SPPB 3.8.10 + raw Helix Ultimate that addon still works

As you know, Each case requires a case-by-case approach, it may be the fault of the addon being overwritten by the template.

Or as I mentioned before - browser cache issue.

I tested on J4.3.1 with Nuron template (updated to last one) and SPPB 3.8.10 inside:

  • Heading addon - OK
  • Clients addon - OK

I can still edit them by back-end editor. Firefox browser !

Hi Paul,

Thank you for your quick reply. I've emptied all site- and browsercache and tried it in Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox. All with the same result as before. Do you have any other suggestions? As mentioned, the problem only occurs with 3.8.10. When I install 3.8.9 again, the problem doesn't occur.

Regards,

Roel

It was a Nuron template ? If can you make a small experiment, and switch to Joomla default template (make it default for 90sec) and use back-end editor again.

Do you have that same problem using a front-end editor?

Sorry, but I cannot reproduce that issue on my demo sites. And without access My "hands are tied".

Anyway, SPPB 3.8.10 was probably the last update of SPPB 3.8.x so you can keep 3.8.9 by now, until you will not migrate into SPPB 4.0.x in the upcoming months.

Hi Paul,

I am no fan of the front-end editor. Since SPPB 4 only has this front-end editor, I prefer using SPPB 3. I will keep using 3.8.9, but I want to STRONGLY request that the back-end editor will return in SPPB 4, please!

Regards,

Roel

On Friday we published beta version of SPPB 5.x with back-end editor.

Beta =/= Stable (!)
