The slideshow works because I had to install my backup with the previous version of Joomla (3.10.11) and I will NOT upgrade to Joomla 4 due to this unresolved issue.
I have decided to rebuild my entire site using a new template with Joomla 4 to avoid a lot of problems I encounter when upgrading from J3 to J4.
