Hi, I really like the Color Library in SPPB 5, can't that be added in SPPB 3 also?

Hi Robert,

Thanks for your interest.

Glad that you liked the Color Library:)

However, final decision has not been made regarding the future of SPPB 3. But to my knowledge no color library or new features will be added. Maybe the update for SPPB 3 will contain only bug fixes from now on.

Have a nice day!

Best Regards

Hi,

I know a lot of members still use SPPB3 until the last versions are really stable. It shouldn't be to much work to add this and gives a nice workflow. As long as flawless updating from SPP3 to SPPB 4 isn't a 100% guaranty we can't use the latest versions for clients.

What the team wants us to use for a real stable version? Last time we had a chat you told me to wait with live websites running on SPPB4. Kind of lost it now..

I have patience for development and it looks all good but we need 100% stable versions.

If I may....

  1. SPPB 3.x will be supported only till end of August.
  2. SPPB 4.0.x will be replaced with SPPB 5.x in next few weeks.
  3. In the meantime team is working to build e-commerce component and integration with SPPB 5.
  4. So, as you can understand, new features for SPPB 3.x is not very realistic vision. But I understand your point of view, and I also think that "Color Library" is great feature. And indeed, originally was planned for SPPB 3.x, but ... came out as it did.

Hi Paul,

Lost it now..

"SPPB 3.x will be supported only till end of August." in your reply.

Joomshaper statement:

**11 January 2022

"Our Commitment to You SP Page Builder 4.0 has a completely new architecture and we can not add backend edit support to it. However, at JoomShaper, regardless of any challenges we face, we always put our customers first. That’s why we have decided to give regular updates to the 3.x series as we have been for at least the next three years.

SP Page Builder 3.x series will continue to receive security patches, updates, and compatibility support for at least the next 3 years."

I have build last sites in SPPB 3 based on this information/statement and now support is only until August?

Now we are forced to upgrade into a version that is now still in development?

Yes. It was stayment from LAST year (1,5 year ago).
Joomla 3.10 also ends in 17 August 2023, and that you cannot stop it.

For now, there is nothing to despair, we will see what can be done. I will ask CEO about new plans.

Yes, let us hear the plans please. As long flawless migration goes into a stable version it's fine I assume. Please don't force the whole community into something that is still a gray area.

Think a lot of people with an agency account are hoping for the same. And are still building based on that 3 year statement, which gives plenty of time to develop a good and stable version. Now I'm getting a little bit worried.

To explain it more from my side; I've been there before that support stopped of a company I had an developers account. Gave me sleepless nights. Had to build all my sites again in SPPB3, I don't want to expericence such a periode again.

Sorry, "end of August 2023" as I said before, no new features(!). You can use SPPB 3.x Pro as long you want. That 3.x version was with us since 2017. I think that's long enough, right. Joomla 1.5 also was very long.

I will grab a new SPPB5 copy and will get along more with it on the side. I liked what I saw for sure in SPPB 5 so far.
