Good morning,
I just installed SP PageBuilder 5.0 and on the face of it this is great progress. It is much more user-friendly and easier to handle.
However, I have a series of important problems, which force me to revert to version 3.9.
Completely unexpectedly, just installing SP PageBuilder 5.0 completely ruined my online layout, while in the Back-End it looks fine.
Here is a list of problems I encounter (the list is not exhaustive, because I have to go back to the old version as soon as possible, and since I don't have a test site, I have to do it as soon as possible.
Before discussing the problems on the live site, here is a remark that seems fundamental to me for the back-end.
When you want to edit a page, choosing the update in the back-end opens a new tab.... A priori, it's better than a pop-up (as was the case previously), but if you have a lot of pages to edit (which is my case, I have to review more than 1200 pages), you quickly end up with a lot of open tabs, which quickly becomes unreadable.
- Advanced: hide on device.
My site is intended to present travel videos. For this, I prepare my html code in my local database, because I want to add text and image, but only on laptop and tablet, because this text takes too much space on smartphone, forcing users to scroll quite a bit of text before getting to the video.
The interface of my administration is in French. I think this is important, because in the new version I have 5 options to handle this:
Hidden on Laptop (off)
Hidden on Tablet Landscape (off)
Hide on desktop (on)
Hide on tablets (on)
Hide on cell phone (off)
The French options look correct, but the display is incorrect. Both videos are shown on laptop. By checking the options in English, it works.
It will be impossible for me to manually modify the 600 pages concerned.
- Column layout
Below the full-page video, the text should be split into 2 columns. On the back-end, the representation is correct, but in live, everything is displayed in a single column.
Saving the page does not change anything.
The most annoying thing is that the entire site is impacted. I could understand that only modified pages have this problem, but all pages do. Hence the urgency to return to the old version (in the hope that my site will be in order again.
Please watch this quickly.
