SP Easy Image Gallery: Pictures do Not Upload

When I try to upload one ore more images in SP Easy Image Gallery, the upload stops at 100% and the image will not be shown. If I look into the folder with my FTP-tool, the Image and the generated thumbnails are there - but in the SP Easy Image Gallery component they don't show up. Even if I save the album, no image is shown. If I try to upload the images in another SP Easy Image Gallery installation (on another, older webpage) they work. What went wrong?
