SP Cookie Consent - Fully GDPR Compliant

Hello,

It would be great if you could update SP Cookie Consent so that it is finally fully compliant with gdpr.

Ideally, if it could also manage the mandatory information (confidentiality + terms & conditions), you could rename it SP GDPR (Compliant) for example.

Thanks

Hi Samuel,

I agree with first thought (idea).

About 2nd there are a few good GDPR extensions that can be used for all kinds of EU websites, event goverment type.

Let's see what to the future will come.

Hello, I am surprised that 11 months after reporting that your extension was not GDPR compliant and requesting an update, there has been no progress on your site. Our DPO insists that your site is not GDPR compliant, and if this is not corrected soon, we may be forced to choose a solution that is in compliance. Personally, I would be very disappointed to have to replace your products, which I like very much, for this reason. Not being compliant risks losing a significant portion of your European clientele, particularly those responding to public tenders where GDPR compliance is essential.

I agree, but Unfortunately, lately we have other piorities, why other extensions get regular updates, but not this one. You have to our understand, this is a free cookie plugin, not GDPR extension.

On JED there are at least 5 extension that you can use for EU sites, also there are scripts that you can embed. So I would rather use one of them, if I were you.

Hello, I was not only referring to the plugin, but also to your website, which appears to be using the plugin.

By now SP Cookie Consent(any your Templates) should be made fully compliant with gdpr. I think the time has come to implement this by now. Users in EU need this by law!

I know, but... there are so many better cookie extensions, also made by German (EU) developers that you should use one of them. For example CookieHint and Consent

About Template itself, nobody force you to use Google Fonts loaded from US servers. You can always use your own font (Also GF) file loaded from your own server, it's so easy...

For your information, Cookiehint isn't GDPR compliant, and its last update was on October 18, 2023—over a year ago. It's not a good solution!

The best option is a paid extension: https://extensions.joomla.org/extension/gdpr/.

It would be great if Joomshaper could become GDPR compliant. You could lose some EU customers simply because you are not GDPR compliant.

I mentioned the same thing over a year ago, and your website is still in the same state.

You should check out the paid extension I recommended—it's fully GDPR compliant.

The main role of any cookie plugin must be to lock cookies before user agree to them. But if your site don't use any external resources (like Google, FB), you don't have to be so worry.

Yes, GDPR is advanced extension ( I also used it), but not all users like to pay extra 50 euro.

The choice of solution (extension) is (or should be) dictated by the content of the site and the type of target customer.
