I asked your chatbot how tokeep hyperlinks in introtext within the Articles add-on. This was the reply:-

You can keep hyperlinks in your articles introtext when using the Articles add-on by following these steps:

Go to the Articles add-on settings. Enable the "Allow HTML" option. Add the hyperlinks in the introtext of the articles. Save the settings.

Is this correct? I cannot find the setting that it speaks of.

Hi Charles,

we removed all HTML from intro for Articles addons for the simple reason that it does not cause an validation error (and other crazy ones) when the text (with html code inside) is divided after a certain number of characters. And no, Artcile addon doesn't have option to allows using HTML code.

To correct that you have two options (at least):

  1. Override articles addon (site.php file from it) and remove simple rule that clean html code from intro.
  2. Use News module inside Module addon. For Joomla there are many modules (also) core ones that allows you display similar intro look.
